Local Unemployment Drops 3.2 Percent Since 2021

As released in the Bureau of Labor Statistics report earlier last month, Michigan’s unemployment rate was 4.1 percent in August, down from 4.2 percent in July.

Locally, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report released on September 28, the Detroit-Warren-Dearborn metropolitan area unemployment rate stayed the same at 3.5 percent.

Since August 2021, the local unemployment rate has dropped 3.2 percent.

The data shows good signs of economic recovery as the state continues to recover from job losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
