Michigan will soon be getting its biggest indoor waterpark and family entertainment center come 2024, according to the president of the Bavarian Inn Lodge. The Frankenmuth-based vacation destination says the waterpark expansion will cost around $80 million and expand its size to 140,000 feet.

“This expansion will help us to advance our goal of creating fun and enjoyable experiences for all ages. We are reimagining family fun and see this as an exciting project for all of Frankenmuth,” said Michael Keller Zehnder, president of the Bavarian Inn Lodge.

The Lodge has previously experienced six phases of construction throughout its history since opening in 1986. A ceremony will take place on Tuesday, December 13 to celebrate the undertaking.

According to the Bavarian Inn Lodge’s own data, around 200,000 visitors make their way to the Lodge yearly, and millions have visited since its opening.

The waterpark is the Lodge’s biggest construction project ever and will offer 20 new attractions to the vacation center.
